Some Thoughtful Commentary From the Opposition i.e. "Don't Shake the Life-Lie!"

From time to time I run across opinions contrary to my own regarding the subject of antinatalism. Not so surprisingly, a lot of them are laced with animosity. This is quite understandable. When one considers the patently 'taboo' nature of the subject, which nevertheless more than holds its own in the arena of idea and debate, one expects critiques short on intellectual cogency, and long on visceral huffing and puffing. I thought I'd offer some of the more glaring examples of what I'm talking about below. Enjoy!

Singer's cajoling us not to have children obviously comes straight from Satan! Can't you hear the tempter's oily words and seemingly irrefutable logic, leading to a conclusion that means death for every human being on this planet within a generation? That's what Satan wants.

A single minute spent bashing Peter Singer's brains in, with a wooden or aluminum baseball bat, in the morning or the afternoon, with or without protective goggles, would be even better than a Big Mack Meal. Possibly even a Supersized one.

Life is Good?

A Gallup poll found that about 77 percent of Americans hate their jobs.
Each week, about 3% of people consider ending their lives.
In the last 45 years suicide rates have increased by 60% worldwide. Suicide is now among the three leading causes of death among those aged 15-44 years (both sexes); these figures do not include suicide attempts up to 20 times more frequent than completed suicide.
In the year 2000, approximately one million people died from suicide: a "global" mortality rate of 16 per 100,000, or one death every 40 seconds.
3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$2/day.
Every year 15 million children die of hunger
In the Asian, African and Latin American countries, well over 500 million people are living in what the World Bank has called "absolute poverty"
The rate of increase of depression among children is an astounding 23%
15% of the population of most developed countries suffers severe depression.
Estimates from 2000 suggest that 1.8 million children were forced into prostitution and pornography, and 1.2 million were victims of trafficking.
In 2004, 218 million children were involved in child labour, of whom 126 million were in hazardous work.
150 million girls and 73 million boys under 18 experienced forced sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual violence during 2002.
Up to 80 to 98% of children suffer physical punishment in their homes, with a third or more experiencing severe physical punishment resulting from the use of implements.
Almost 53,000 children died worldwide in 2002 as a result of homicide.
